United’s position as the world’s largest transpacific passenger carrier is bolstered by this service, as well as by the carrier's recent launch of new service between Washington Dulles and Tokyo Narita, and the first-ever capital-to-capital service between Washington, D.C., and Beijing. From its San Francisco hub, United became the first U.S. carrier in more than 30 years to offer service to Vietnam. Later this year, United will begin nonstop service between Los Angeles and Hong Kong with direct service to Ho Chi Minh City. United continues to place its assets where they will provide the greatest return for United and its customers while leveraging the company’s strengths – its customer loyalty, hub airports and Asia Pacific network.
